Honestly if Jeffries holds to this disastrous course, he shouldn’t just not be elected Speaker, he should be impeached and removed.
Really, really important for Democrats to understand that if we allow "enforcing the rule of law" to be redefined as "getting even" we are cooked.

Why? Impeachment is a form of political judgment & repudiation; it attributes responsibility for conduct incompatible with constitutional governance. Belknap (1876) was impeached after he resigned; Blount (1797/98) & Trump (2021) were tried after leaving office. Hegseth should be impeached. Period.
