Comedy is obviously incredibly subjective but improv as an art form is incredibly academic and Eugene is hands down one of the best technical improvisers on the planet. This ep was a JOY !!!!!

I love how many new voices get a shot on @cbbworld.bsky.social , but there’s something reeeeeally special about four master improvisers with history and a lot of love, throwing fast balls at each other for an hour and a half.

Panel show banter is improv. A talk show host riffing with a guest is improv. Most of these people are trained improvisers and the product is culturally considered funny while the labour is culturally considered unspeakable!

Actual Play is not what got Theatre Kids into role-playing games. They were already there.

this was supposed to be torture, but our topeka improvisers made it neary impossible not to laugh. it takes very clever comedians to do "bad comedy" funnily. switching seats? going through a drive-thru? all their ideas.

I'm going to do the break character thing which I don't do too often. Way back in 1994 I think Stephen Colbert was one of my instructors at the Second City Training Center in Chicago. I had him for 8 weeks of classes with a dozen other aspiring improvisers and he was a genuinely funny and nice guy
