Next year, Americans will see the biggest jump in health insurance costs in 15 years.

Meanwhile, the six largest health insurers raked in more than $31 billion in net income last year.

Still not sure if we need Medicare for All?

Universal health care, universal education, universal basic income.

Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness.

Tesla. Disney. CVS Health. United Airlines. PayPal. Billions in profits. $0 in federal corporate income taxes.
That money should be funding schools, healthcare, and public services.
This is why people are mad as hell.

If you paid even a penny in federal income tax last year, you paid more than:

Tesla
Southwest
Disney
Live Nation
HP
United
PayPal
CVS Health
Palantir
Citigroup
PG&E
3M

That's right. They paid $0 in federal income tax.

It's time for big corporations to pay their fair share.

Progressives HAVE been weighing in.

-universal health care
-streamlining immigration processes
-universal basic income
-more funding for childcare

But no one wanted to listen.

How messed up do you have to be to say that stripping health coverage from up to 16 million people, removing food from kids, and raising taxes on some low-income people is “immaterial”?

BERNIE: “This senate is about to make a horrific situation even worse… health insurance premiums will double/triple/quadruple… some will pay 50% of their income… 15 million will lose insurance… 50,000 will die unnecessarily…”

We must not throw 16 million low-income and working class Americans off of the health care they have in order to give massive tax breaks to billionaires.

That is obscene.

Someone told me my posts were too political and I should focus more on health.

Health IS political.

I wish it wasn’t. I wish we could agree that everyone deserves universal healthcare and a basic income. Access to food, meds and shelter.

Until that point, politics & health remain intertwined

Here is the problem with work requirements for Medicaid.

You have to have a very low income to qualify for Medicaid.
If you do get a job that does not have health insurance benefits and you make over a certain income, you will lose Medicaid and paying for health ins will eat up much of your income.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

5/ The bill cuts the help middle income Americans get to buy health care on the Affordable Care Act exchange.

A 60 year old couple making $85,000 (not a king's ransom) would see a $26,000 increase in health care premiums. Yes, that's right - $26,000.

Vaccines don’t cause autism.
Vitamin A won’t cure measles.
Masks don’t cause hypoxia.
Healthy living won’t cure or prevent disability.
Eliminating red food dye won’t Make Americans Healthy

We need universal health care, universal basic income, robust public health, masks in healthcare & more.

Low-income workers who are covered by Medicaid are generally in jobs that don't provide health benefits. Without Medicaid, they'd be uninsured.
Mike Johnson: "We have to eliminate people on Medicaid who are not actually eligible to be there. Able-bodied workers for example, young men who should never be on the program at all."

BREAKING: The Department of Health and Human Services has fired every single worker in its program that helps low-income Americans pay their energy bills.

when you propose things like universal free health care or universal basic income, some people will say "you can't just give people handouts!"

and my response is

why?
August 13, 2025 at 5:57 AM
I don't understand why I see things so differently. I see a health insurance industry that thinks it's entitled to charge people 1/3rd of their income for healthcare. That industry shouldn't be "fixed." It should be burned to the ground and its ashes pissed on.
