Stolen credit. 55,000 projects were in progress when Biden left office. I've seen photos where trump removed Biden's name and put his name on signs. He forgot to remove the line that read "paid for by the Infrastructure Act". He had removed all funding for that when he took office.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act launches Jan 1, 2027, offering a $40.9B rural tax break for tech infrastructure. Expanding Opportunity Zones, it slashes investment thresholds and grants 100% bonus depreciation to boost rural development. Critics slam it as a job-free corporate handout. 🤦‍♀️
Rural Data Centers Are in for a Big Federal Tax Break
Under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act,  data center projects in rural areas could be eligible for major tax benefits starting next year. Some hyperscalers do not seem eager to take the free cash.

To win over locals, data centers pump $340M into rural Texas projects
A new water tower in Turkey: $3 million. Upgrades for a museum in Stamford: $400,000. A first responders appreciation barbecue in Medina County: $10,000. These are just some of the public investments data center companies have paid for across rural Texas in the past year. According to a Texas Tribune analysis, data center companies have donated or invested more than $343 million across the Lone Star state for various community needs, including school programs, infrastructure repairs and emergency services. Much of that money has gone to the very communities that have fought against data center development and is seemingly an effort to win over public support through their bottomless bank accounts. The Texas Tribune reviewed news releases, public meeting agendas, and interviewed local officials to understand how data centers are using their money in Texas. Because not every donation is made public, the total — the first of its kind compiled in Texas — is likely an undercount. Google donated millions of dollars to the Haskell area for its hospital, pregnancy center, and other causes. Rowan Digital Infrastructure is giving $38 million to Temple for its water infrastructure, along with more money for STEM Centers at schools in nearby small...

Canada's First National Interest Project Revealed: Carney Announces Pacific Link Pipeline
Prime Minister Carney has officially designated the Pacific Link pipeline as Canada's first project of national interest, marking a significant milestone in the country's infrastructure and energy policy. The announcement, made on October 1, 2026, highlights the government's commitment to advancing major energy infrastructure projects that align with national economic and environmental goals. The Pacific Link pipeline, which will connect Alberta to the West Coast, is expected to create thousands of jobs and foster Indigenous partnerships, as emphasized by Prime Minister Carney during his address. The project has received strong support from Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, who stated that 'Alberta taxpayers are going to benefit' from the pipeline expansion. Carney also highlighted that 'The Canadian taxpayer is going to make a lot of money' through this initiative, framing it as a strategic investment in Canada's future. The government has positioned the pipeline as a symbol of national unity and leadership, with Carney stating, 'We will build this pipeline for the people of Canada.' The announcement comes amid broader discussions about Canada's energy strategy, including the need to balance economic growth with environmental sustainability. The Pacific Link pipeline is part of a larger plan to enhance Canada's position in the global energy market while ensuring that Indigenous communities have a significant role in the project's development and management. This initiative follows the government's recent focus on infrastructure investment as a key driver of economic growth, particularly in the energy sector. The project has been met with enthusiasm from industry leaders and political figures across the country, who view it as a critical step toward securing Canada's energy future. The government has also emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the project's implementation, with regular updates to be provided to the public on progress and outcomes. This announcement represents a pivotal moment in Canadian politics, as it underscores the government's ability to deliver on its promises and address key economic challenges through strategic infrastructure investments.

Mercury and NZ Clean Energy sign long-term renewable energy partnership for Masterton solar and battery storage project
“Projects of this scale require strong partnerships and a shared long-term vision,” Simpson said. “By working together, developers and energy retailers can help bring the new generation online faster, attract investment into critical infrastructure and support a more resilient and sustainable electricity system for New Zealand.” Mercury executive general manager wholesale Tim Thompson said the company was excited to back the Masterton project. “Solar will complement our hydro, wind and geothermal generation, adding further diversity and resilience to our renewable portfolio,” he said. “We’re investing significantly in new renewable generation ourselves, and this project is another way we can support development. Ultimately, adding more renewable energy to the grid will support greater system resilience and help power New Zealand’s future economic growth.” The development of the Masterton Solar and Energy Storage Farm is expected to create more than 100 jobs during the construction phase. Full construction is set to begin early in the new year. NZCE, which was founded in 2022 and is backed by Foresight Group, develops, builds, owns and operates utility-scale renewable energy projects across New Zealand. It has an extensive development pipeline with initial projects scheduled to commence construction in 2026 and 2027, including developments in Darfield...
