That wrote well wth a stub nib for 30 bucks. today, cool, functional, affordable new pens come from all over the world, and it's terrific, and I think you have TWSBI to thank for that.

I’ve always wanted an a big e-ink calendar/IoT hub in my head. It seems like a no brainer, but haven’t seen much in that niche. Usually the first thing a company does is use a full colour LCD panel. It’s like smartwatches. I don’t need high fidelity graphics on my wrist.

I have the 8550 and I'm pretty happy with it. The scanner is a good scanner, and the ink is relatively cheap.
The paper feed gives me trouble with thick matte paper. And regardless of printer, color fidelity takes some work.
It goes on sale semi-regularly if you're not in a hurry.

E-ink-devixe mfrs are so cagey about resolution. Maybe I'm too picky, but when I notice a fidelity difference between 1:1 on a conventional monitor and an e-ink display, it kills the experience for me.
