It's not one to one but it does remind me of how queer discourse circles round and round. My age group had (some of) the same discussions the ones before had and now (some of) those are repeating. Bc we are denied our history and intergenerationality (generally), we repeat and repeat. It breaks me

I think that if you want to refer to any kind of forced or coerced labor, you can use those terms. I think "slavery" implies a combination of racialization, intergenerationality, and brutality that isn't present in all coerced labor. Rhetorically conflating those shouldn't be accidental.
