BERLIN, Germany, January 20 (IPS) - As democracy faces pressure around the world and confidence in international law drops, a new global survey reveals that citizens in a vast majority of countries support the idea of creating a citizen-elected world parliament to deal with global issues.

It is the doctrine that was the standard in the #internationalsystem until #WW1 and the doctrine that was only starting to be abandoned after WW2, when a (apparently) more solid international organization - the UN, that is - was created to keep the order and make wars preventable. (11/17)

What we must all remember from the Gaza genocide is that the international system is rotten to its core and needs to be completely replaced.

We cannot accept a system where Western governments and leaders can commit genocide and war crimes with total impunity.
