I went interrailing in the mid 00s. Got the train from Bristol Temple Meads to Reading, had a panic attack, then got the next train back. Spent the rest of the summer playing Metal Gear Solid 3. Friends still think I travelled around France.

I’m going to guess he means Glastonbury camping during festival time.
I camped 19/20 nights when interrailing in the 90s in August and can’t really imagine being quite so unprepared and gung-ho these days! But I largely agree with your point.

I’m for mandatory reporting, but it *does* have trade-offs (e.g. just as child endangerment laws about mandatory investigation ends up with Kirsty Whatsherface having the police come around because someone complained about her kid going interrailing without her).
