Tokenism is what happens when you strip the class consciousness out of the intersectionalism.

If Ed Zitron’s relevance to the AI discourse is being actively questioned on the left on the grounds of intersectionalism then the AI bubble has definitely popped.

What is the issue that will unite us now?

Intersectionalism is when you throw immigrants, racial minorities, women and trans men‘s reproductive rights, gay people’s rights, disabled people’s rights, and worker’s rights out the window because a dem got mealy-mouthed about fairness in sports

The IHRA definition still stands. It certainly is not 'fraudulent'. What BDS writes about is also the result of intersectionalism. This bunch of frames obfuscates the matter and it makes Jewish individuals in diaspora vulnerable.

YOU ARE GODDAMN SKIPPY ON THAT. Intersectionalism or nothing.
September 28, 2026 at 6:20 PM
Oof. Well, the good news is that there's no time like right now to explain that feminism means you believe that all people should have rights, no matter what gender, race, religion, sexuality, and that you personally choose to be feminist because you want a better world for her? #intersectionalism💜

This is 60% of America. And this is where intersectionalism fails utterly. That's right. I fuckin' said it.
The Real Stories - not the GOP’s.
September 26, 2026 at 5:26 PM
I have honest to god never thought "if you are a feminist, trans people are the enemy".

The only thing i wondered some years ago was if trans men are being kicked out of Feminism Club when they transition....

...To which the reply of course is "fuck no? Dont be ridiculous"

CNN did this great doc about a Women’s Book Club in Rikers.

It confirms the power of books. The connectivity, the intersectionalism of the human experience and community.

Books are everything. And not to be hyperbolic they are trying to take it away from us.

I have read the Boston Globe lesbian bar article and it has further convinced me that intersectionalism is basically a fine worldview until you intersectionalize the mentally ill

i was watching the interview he did w clock it live and it killed me the way every black woman in his chat popped up when the lady host said that his audience was just white guys. it was like a roll call. it wasnt what i was thinking of but the intersectionalism w trans women u mentioned reminded me

Though regardless of politics, the utmost thing I think we can never abandon, is solidarity.

Seen through the lenses of intersectionalism and power structures (such as class).

Solidarity helps seperate an alliance from a mere collalition.

We need more than a collalition to unfuck all this shit.

Gloria Steinem was problematic. Her intersectionalism was weak. She slandered Bernie in 2016, all in on that antisemitism of the Dems. A corporatist fasc light. She undercut all the work she supposedly did.

I was fully over her by 2017, and all the centrist right dems with her.
Yeah Yep

Yes, I was a Guardian reader till 2013 when they signed up against Scotland leaving the UK - a position, ironically, which I now support. Until then I'd swallow every theory of oppression going, it was early intersectionalism, I suppose.

Seriously. They all hate intersectionalism so much because context & how things relate to other things and influence people & culture makes their entire identities collapse. Also; bitcoin is extremely boring.
I would love to talk to someone who was like "look lemme explain why dolls are colonialism in a microcosm" and I would, uh, affirmatively try not to talk to someone who was like "okay but have you heard of our lord and savior, bitcoin?"

I was literally a proto-chud anti-sjw type in my teens/early adulthood how am I doing intersectionalism / multiaxial analysis like it's second nature. bsky.app/profile/cool...
So true, gay/bi men have never experienced systemic oppression. Or any other men. Oppression after all is a binary thing, and also conveniently based on one factor. If one is not oppressed on the basis of sex then they are immutably the oppressor.

I'm queer. So this is all very familiar to me at age 42.

These bigotries run in packs.

As left as we call it intersectionalism, but I think the average person understands that these are like the horseman of a fascism.

So when i started hearing "that's gay" a slur i personally worked to kill...

Who is the they in that sentence? Because your post sure wasn't attacking the Republicans that are doing that, but black southerners. So perhaps there is some intersectionalism to understand of who are your allies and who are your enemies.
August 22, 2026 at 6:18 PM
At some point you've conflated economic class & caste systems, the latter of which is closer to how the US has treated race but still far from 1:1. Like, both race and economic class can both be interrelated and magnify one another without one subsuming the other. That's literally intersectionalism.
August 22, 2026 at 8:54 PM
it’s like you’re reverse engineering intersectionalism but not understanding any of the related concepts
August 21, 2026 at 7:26 PM
"I just don't get this whole intersectionalism thing. It feels like everyone is telling me I can't be me."

And then they usually say something mean that isn't quite a slur
August 21, 2026 at 6:09 PM
this is a great example of tautology supporting a bad argument. if they experience oppression, it is because of being gay, trans, etc. not because of being white. a white person *cannot* experience oppression for being white. you need to learn about white privilege. and intersectionalism. and racism
August 21, 2026 at 7:29 PM
Could be worse. They could have employed and promoted him several times, lauded him as a prodigy, incited him on to various TV shows and hailed him as the poster boy of intersectionalism - without checking that anything he was said was true.
August 20, 2026 at 10:56 AM
don't get the bog witch wrong, we love lesbians here, but one's filter for "is this media worth engaging with" should not be a fully-contained subset of "does this media depict queer women unambiguously being queer"

because kyriarchy and intersectionalism, y'all

sometimes other things also matter!

The X-Men work best when they're a discussion about assimilation versus self determination/identification. Neither Xavier or Magneto are wrong in their conclusions about human beings.

Also, when writers have the leeway and guts, they're a great vehicle for understanding intersectionalism.
Okay, I'm genuinely throwing this out to people: what are your mildly shit-stirring takes on X-Men comics and characters?
Anyway, that's bedtime! Maybe I'll think of more tomorrow. In the meantime, feel free to hit me with some of your spicier X-men takes below
