Looking at this old Melody Maker front cover....
Back in January 1985, I was selling this for IR£0.73!
Wasn't every day you saw In Tua Nua named on the cover of such an august musical bible....
And an Evertonian pictured on the cover!

What a great show this was 40 years ago at #CrokePark #Dublin #U2 #TheUnforgettableFire Tour. Will never forget hearing the song "Bad" live for the first time. #REM #TheAlarm #Squeeze and #InTuaNua the support bands, all were great!

40 years ago I had the privilege of attending the biggest, the best and longest 14.5 hours of music at Self Aid in Dublin. You can read more here djdeath.co.uk/self-aid-dub.... 😉 #80smusic #selfaid #dublinireland #blueinheaven #InTuaNua #CactusWorldNews #pogues #U2 #Clannad

#nowplaying #InTuaNua, funny story, this band got me into Echo and the Bunnymen. As a naive teen i ordered a compilation with the song Seven into the Sea on it, but i thought it was Seven Seas, so listened to that 7' for weeks until the compilation arrived, turned out to be a whole different tune ☺️

Gosh, remember going to that tour through in Glasgow on my own - supported by Waterboys, Commotions, Hipsway and Intuanua. In fact I've video of me from whistle test bouncing around to Lloyd during it. Happy times when my head was black n spikey instead of a greying mop!

One of my favourite b-sides of the 80's ("what's a b-side, Dad?!") - "The Man" from In Tua Nua.
B-side on both 7" and 12" releases of "Heaven Can Wait".
By the way, despite sending Paul Byrne a prompt to get the band a presence on Bluesky, I still wait...
