Inverclyde Council spends nearly £25m with local businesses
Inverclyde Council has directed nearly £25m to local businesses over the past year, marking a significant boost to the regional economy. The local authority spent just over £24.5m on goods, services, and works directly with small and medium-sized enterprises situated within the area during the 2025/26 financial period. This expenditure represents an increase of almost £3.5m compared to the previous 12-month total and accounts for exactly a fifth of the overall procurement spending.

Labour are to feart tae call an egg an egg. Brexit has been a disaster, and Labour MP for Inverclyde and Renfrew Martyn McCluskey was asked when the people might be consulted about this?
He said: "I'm not going to get ahead of myself on process here.
Poop or get off the pot Martyn!

I would blame the local MP for Labour as he is 100% focused on Inverclyde and dropped the ball on Renfrew West.
The MP is Martin McCluskey, who serves as the Scottish Labour MP for Inverclyde and Renfrewshire

In Scottish seats like Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West and Stirling and Strathallan, EU membership means the gap would close on the SNP to less than three percent making it “holdable” in a General Election campaign.

Yep, a man missing off the coast of Inverclyde due to the tidal surges and flooding, businesses ruined, but this is of no consequence to either the UK or the Scot Govt (who yesterday approved a new gas fired power station in Peterhead)

RU Yes Yet
Read the room Inverclyde. Labour are bad for your health and wellbeing. They were given £19 million to build affordable and social housing. Labour in Greenock sat on it then handed it back. Low and behold two weeks later they are being heralded for selling off 2 ex school properties.

So now they have managed to deplete Inverclyde services as they scrabble to find the same money to build these 2 sites in the article.

This is the major arterial road from North Ayrshire to Inverclyde. There's gates across the road to stop traffic if there's dangerous conditions, but it doesn’t stop the sea itself, which comes right up to the road (as can be seen in the photo).
