Every appliance in this kitchen beeps. Not once, either, but in repeated bursts until it gets attention. And every beep sounds the same, which makes it like a therapeutic exercise for the bewildered to track them down.

The man said the fridge would need a local IP address, but I put my foot down.

Its weird because ive seen it both as "Lets reclaim HP as a trans IP, we'll take it back from JK!" or whatever with Malfoid (Awful name btw) being a cute trans girl with trans flags and also her calling you a mudblood with a ripped trans flag like this is getting ridiculous.

“Lanterns” was great, but as a gritty reboot of an IP I’m unfamiliar with, it was constantly odd to have everyone hyping up “Manhunters” and “Guardians” that are kinda just… people.

in running my own website with resources that i want people to access for free, i've been forced to put stuff behind $0 paywalls to prevent scraping which makes it annoying for people to access. i hate that i have to do this, all because Big AI companies decided that copyright / IP theft is okay
Something AI is responsible for that doesn't get enough talk:

How, when it scrapes a website to illegally steal everything on it, it uses up a ton of its bandwidth allotment, crashing it or racking up massive fees for site owners.
Yet again, the Game UI Database is being scraped to the point that it's getting knocked offline. Even Cloudflare's "I'm under attack" mode isn't working.
I just wanted to create a resource for real designers. I'm getting so fucking sick of this.

(Not much, if any, by my take.

Altman, et. al., are still quite for the idea of IP when it comes to their products. It's just everyone else's property that should be fair game for them.)

I had to feel blood oozing in my lung. Smell it. For a year. And every once in a while it will wheeze.

Then the vaccine reaction. All to get put ip on the fucking comms to listen to this fucking country. So much happened to me.

But I wake up everyday.

I am a miracle.

Which then leads to the debate of well if what you use to generate x,y,z on is trained on the work of other people, can you really go after someone who does the same. And IP protection within GenAI.

What part of, “This person is actively harming a minority community and we’d all appreciate if you would stop helping her IP trend and keep giving her free advertising in the lead up to her new TV premiering?” is so hard for you to understand?
What you see as attacks is people pleading to allies.

Have I grown less pessimistic and more accepting of differing interpretations of the IP over the past couple of decades, or am I genuinely living in some sort of Spider-Man golden age (comics withstanding)? Because I swear everything Spider-Man (comics withstanding) I see is fucking S tier

I can't help but wonder how much of this subset's attitude is a knock-on effect from the days of rampant music piracy (e.g., Napster, etc.) That period seemed to have warped a lot of people's perceptions about IP—especially in the creative arts world.

Ever Crisis ends tomorrow. Now that it's ending it does feel pretty sad, but, some questionable decisions aside, it definitely kept me looped in and interested in the FFVII IP. I'm now just trying to spend all my gil and crystals and wrap stuff up one last time.

which is a fine proposal--by all means, nationalize anthropic and openAI if you want--but we should be clear here about what the legal/policy issue at stake is; it's not IP law, it's means-of-LLM-production (and means-of-serving-LLMs-to-consumers)

"oh but rowling hates malfoid"

YOU ARE ADVERTISING HER IP. FOR FREE.
October 5, 2026 at 10:21 PM
i mean, in the narrow sense of IP rights as the quoted post phrases it, models already *are* public domain, and their output is as well. like AIUI you cannot copyright an LLM. the barriers here aren't IP protections in any substantive sense
October 5, 2026 at 10:21 PM
(lack of IP protections is also why distillation attacks aren't illegal! nor should they be IMO)

You can't have HP without Rowling unless Rowling gives up the IP. Until you can show me an article of her doing just that, then your 'point' is just choosing to stay ignorant.

The above don't get into the questions of underlying ethics, of course, but the answers to questions like these at least give you an idea of how fully your employer is considering items that have historically been of concern to investors: money, liability, IP, data security, and CO2 footprint.
