More #ipadacademy fun today! Delivered an activity (Gratias, Ms. Knudson!) via @Schoology to open in @NotabilityApp then share back with classmates in Schoology. Great way to write, draw and share clothing vocabulary in the TL! #bpsne #LatinTeach

Student-guided relearning! Used formative data to create small groups, then student leaders lead their peers toward mastery. Fun for me to be the “guide on the side” while our experts could “show what they know” to help others! #ipadacademy #latinteach #bpsne

#ipadacademy #blendedlearning meets #latinteach again! Ss did “running dictation” to get their lines, then used @Classkick on iPads for scansion of poetic meter. Ss scanned, I gave feedback & Ss learned/corrected mistakes! Also love collaboration between Ss in the app!

#ipadacademy #blendedlearning meets #latinteach again! Ss did “running dictation” to get their lines, then used @Classkick on iPads for scansion of poetic meter. Ss scanned, I gave feedback & Ss learned/corrected mistakes! Also love collaboration between Ss in the app!

A3: Latin course content is delivered via Schoology with video lessons (via @YouTube), practice (Google Forms, @Quizlet, etc) and extension for fast finishers (@TEDTalks, etc.). #ipadacademy

A4: oh my, I do not use enough variety but @Schoology, @quizlet, @Classkick & @nearpod are used regularly - my goal for winter break is to play with @flipgrid and find other ways to work in more activities. I like data so looking for something to track Ss progress #ipadacademy

A5: Ss have choice in daily work, how they want to practice or demonstrate mastery. I feel like I don't app smash enough (but I also know I'm new at this and it takes some front-loading and I'll get there someday!) #ipadacademy

A2: I look at student activities, the weather, the overall school atmosphere, etc. and pick the tool(s) that will keep my kids the most engaged. I try to plan a few things that "flow" well together. Having lots of tools in my box allows for a lot of flexibility! #ipadacademy

A3: we have done a good amount of project-esque activities that allow for collaboration in small groups. One of my new faves is doing "pass the iPad" collaborative stories in my Latin language classroom. #ipadacademy

A4: Digitalization has streamlined data collection of learning goals. So much formative feedback is available through our apps. Ss & Ts know stat if goals are met. Then I can address whole class misunderstandings or find opportunities for one-on-one relearning #ipadacademy

A2: in teaching a language, I look for any little opportunity for Ss to show what they know in a creative way. For some Ss, this helps them approach the content (language, culture) from a different perspective! #ipadacademy

A3: I LOVE reviewing stories by making superslide videos (students illustrate and retell w/narration). I also love giving them a template with a basic idea and letting them run with it (ask me about "Primp My Raeda" sometime 😉) #ipadacademy

A4: a lot of my students took my language because they like that it "isn't spoken" but technology gives them the voice that they might have otherwise been afraid to use. they record material or express themselves in apps to use this "dead" language without fear 1/ #ipadacademy

A4: technology seems to break down the affective filter for some kiddos and it gives them a sense of confidence and pride and it's really cool to see in action. Tech can be a gift while also adding a lot of fun! 2/2 #ipadacademy
