Republicans want to privatize Iowa - Medicaid, vouchers, and now IPERS and corrections health care.

Public workers do it better and are accountable to their communities! Stop selling off Iowa jobs, stand with public workers. #ThankAUnion.

Little-known fact: Iowa's state treasurer serves on the 7-member board that oversees the state's largest public pension system (IPERS).

At the Iowa State Fair on Saturday, Democratic state treasurer candidate John Norwood explained what he would do to protect IPERS.

IPERS executives can get roughly 90% of the maximum incentive payment without extraordinary performance.
Then, as private equity weakened, it was removed from the calculation.

That’s moving the goalposts.
I built a calculator--test the formula yourself here:

IPERS is a promise to the teachers, firefighters, police officers, snowplow drivers, and so many others who serve our state. They’ve paid in every paycheck.

They’ve earned their retirement security and I'll make sure to protect that promise everyday as governor.

BTW: Iowans never got clarity from Gov. Reynolds or details of the investigation at IPERS that resulted in the resignation of the CEO and firing of a top exec.

Who led the investigation? What were the findings? What's being done to prevent from something like this from happening again?

The office of the state treasurer should not be about red or blue. As Iowa's next treasurer, my goal will be to protect Iowans hard earned money and defend the Iowa Employees' Retirement System (IPERS) from any attempts to weaken or privatize it. Check out video w/ audio.

I am in TIAA, most people I know are in TIAA. With IPERS you do have the guaranteed income of whatever based on your salary and years of service, but with TIAA I feel it is more flexible if you don't plan to stay w/State of Iowa forever.
