I dig this look. 😅

Hat was a gift from many years ago. It became a prop over my work bench but recently cleaned and thought I should finally wear it.

More older work. Completed the 1/20 Amuro Ray figure in 2022, Bright Noah in the late 1980s. I need to do more figures...

The latest @ipmsusa.bsky.social Journal arrived yesterday...added to the pile still left to read (if you think I'm a slow model builder... 😂)

Looking for large sheets of styrene cheap? Yard signs work great! Using this one to wrap the foam base for the Gee Bee "Batman 1935".

Dora Wings 1/48 Gee Bee "Batman 1935" dio WIP: propeller is done! Which means the plane itself is complete! Woohoo!

The dio assembly. Painting the dio base is all that's left which I'll be doing with my older daughter. The prop CA glued to the engine shaft. From this angle, I dig the prop! The painted prop after satin topcoat (VMS) and prior to Tamiya grey pin wash around the center section and hub. The paints airbrushed to create the effect. They were super-thinned via MLT and sprayed at relatively low pressure.

It's the people that make it special. Members at last night's meeting sharing thoughts, ideas, comments, jokes. What a fabulous group if people!

One of our younger members setting up his excellent 1/700 ship while 2nd VP and newsletter editor Pip looks on. Some of the crew chatting and building in front of the display table. Kurt always has the best expressions when being photographed 😅 Ready to listen on to a member prepping to describe their work during show and tell.

I'm so totally digging how this looks!!! Bore out a square hole under the port wing and stuffed in a 3.2mm Evergreen square styrene tube. Cemented in place via CA glue. After the backgroynd is painted, the tube will be painted to blend in and hide. Carefully cut a similar hole in the backdrop after testing out the angle I wanted, and punched through the styrene and foam. Happy to report the MG-08 gun sights are still attached!!!

The city is Bandai's Customize Scene Base #4, which provided the right amount of scale and size I was ongoing for. I carved out foam to recess up to the street level, then laminate the insulation in stryrene. Picked up this hot wire cutter from Alieexpress for a very reasonable price. Easy to use, especially for cutting circular pieces but like anything it takes time to get proficient at it. Filler will be needed on some areas later. Material is 3/4" foam insulation board. The two pieces roughly assembled. The back section is angled back significantly. Tools used after laminating styrene, to shape and clean up. Not seen, lots of elbow grease...😅
