These are the blueprints for the structural ironwork for Dana's apartment building, and they're very, very strange.

Petits détails qui font la typicité de l’Art Nouveau : ferroneries, sculpture des pierres, grattoir à chaussures.
Small details that define the character of Art Nouveau: ironwork, stone carving, and boot scrapers.

Lovely image of ironwork at the 1930 Villa Empain in Brussels. From the Boghossian Foundation's collection.

I seem to make my coolest pictures around Halloween, this year's and last year's.

That line about either side of a door becoming a prison really stuck with me. The rotted oak and rusted ironwork set such a cold scene. I want to see where Kru steps next.

The old ironwork on those stone steps is classic Coimbra. Botanical gardens in Portugal always feel a bit wild around the edges—especially in the north. Lovely depth in this shot.

I feel that, totally feel that. Went back to ironwork, and its a total crap shoot if you get fucked with or not, so I dont say anything anymore, sorta halfway forced myself back in the closet, just to make a living... hate it, plus I blew my shoulder out on the last bridge, so I just weld now

The pheasants are so thick on the ground in some of the woodland on the Dalmeny Estate just now that if I was leading a group walk the risk assessment would have to list them as a tripping hazard

I love the ironwork there and it’s miles better than Euston. Has a lovely Victorian feel. The lounge is a bit meh though.

A lady never tells.

A little sunshine brings out the beauty in every detail: elegant windows, graceful ironwork and stories carved in stone. These lovely façades invite us to pause and look closer. I hope you enjoy this small glimpse of the city as much as I enjoyed photographing it. More photos: fotogewoon.nl Enjoy!

Y tho?

Y-plan pintle remaining in the place it was laid hundreds of years ago when the building to which it belongs was being raised at Byland Abbey. This is very fine work: little to no trace of lead caulking apparent in other formats of pintles.

Carry a small notebook on your next city walk and jot down three details you would normally miss: a doorway, a date stone, a bit of ironwork. Compare notes at home.

In the 19th century, wealthy residents built grand homes to show off their success. Greek Revival columns, ornate ironwork, and Italianate details helped make each house stand out.

The seagull behind the ironwork is pure Dublin theater. I find my best customers are the ones who laugh at my own random shots first.
