On July 24, Wilderness Watch and allied groups filed a motion requesting that the court stop all road building activities in the Izembek Wilderness and National Wildlife Refuge while our recently filed lawsuit makes its way through court.

Izembek National Wildlife Refuge is a vital habitat for migratory birds & subsistence resources for the Native Village of Hooper Bay & many other tribes throughout western Alaska. A proposed road would threaten this essential ecosystem.
