Didn't recall these JVCs having a BURT mode...
Checking inside my JVC video monitor because something was rattling around. Just a broken piece of plastic. Sony PVMs are a nightmare to work on but the JVCs are fairly roomy and laid out well.

End of an Era at AVAV Towers today
Last Domestic Panasonic VHS / S-VHS Recorder has left the building. Can’t be doing with replacing 50 odd capacitors anymore. All sold & gone
Sony & JVCs still going strong, they’ll see me out

I think part of it was the some of us came of age when *the major* way that we saw the Catholic Church showing up in public life was around covering up for pedophile priests and hating gay people.
*Individual* priests, Catholic Wkrs, JVCs etc. showed up in other ways, but *they* didn't get oxygen.

I’ve been using AirPods but they give me terrible tinnitus, plus they’re so easy lose. Back on the JVCs for me.

I was on wired until last year! Could justify paying £7 in 2016 for JVCs that broke after a year, but not £15 and six months

Guess what? The SteamDeck has a mother fucking headphone jack. Bought some cheap decent jelly jvcs for this very reason. It's about that time or get back into Oxenfree. I've eaten, taken the puppy out, it's time!

In fact, you have to watch out with the cheaper of the new JVCs - more limited zoom than the NZ models. Also have to be careful about zoom range if you want to do CIH or other sizes/ratios.

LOL I dread to think what the CTW 310 or the Subaru's RD25 would record. I forgot all about the variance in tapes as well. I got JVC G1s and Fuji DR90s; the latter hiss like fuck in the Subaru but take Dolby better than the JVCs (more headroom)?

The main cameras were camcorders (4k JVCs) that we got for their good rep for detail and quality. We needed to be able to capture detailed movements and facial expressions (esp. through masks - COVID times), and they had inputs for external mics, which made it easier when mixing the vids and audio

Read a fun story years ago, studio legend Rupert Neve giving a talk - gets asked what he uses at home just to listen to music - 'a cheap JVC amplifier' at which point two 🇯🇵 salary man looking guys leapt up punching the air, turned out they were engineers from JVCs hifi arm!
