The note at upper left, "To. San Francisco Cal. Per SS Coptic." My profile image is of a 1 yen, Tazawa definitive, JSCA 157 with postmark, Persia Maru. Persia Maru is the S.S. Coptic, rechristened for service with Toyo Kisen Kaisha. #definitivelystamps #stampcollecting #philately

This Japan 1/2 sen sakura, 1872, S MH, fills one of many holes in my collection for the 1872 issues. A bit of damage but the price was right.

Additional TKK (Toyo Kisen Kaisha) related items that I have been obtaining are these postcards which were apparently a series all depicting Japanese cultural related images.

A couple of recent Japan purchases on eBay are below. The top of row of Sakuras are all fakes and I wasted my money. The bottom 2 sen, old koban, however, has an interesting kiban cancel for the city of Wakayama.

I quite like this definitive from the 1960s and found this pair (attached with a sliver of stamp hinge on the back). It was listed as JAPAN 10Y Coil elusive pair Akasaka 赤坂 3.May.1966

I have been trying to work on the offices, China and Korea. These are all offices in Korea. The 5 sen is actually dupe for me but I will probably still hang on to it.

These were pickups at our local club auction. Turns out, I only need the one on the right which I knew but the one on the left is marginally better than the one I have in my album so, despite the stain.

Listed as JAPAN Old Koban Hakodate, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Foreign Mail Bota Cxls, I quite like to display interesting bota cancels in my album and then have separate blank quadrille pages for varieties.
