#JazzAppreciationMonth #JAM ends TODAY! Our #OHIOUniversityArchives are full of fun #jazz content. In fact, our Spotify has playlist of past jazz performers! This colorful graphic is from 1957 yearbook of Count Basie! bit.ly/ou-uaSpotify #OHIOUniversityArchives #OHIOUniversity #jazzmonth #jazzsky
B&W photo of person in a full white suit playing saxophone placed onto a yellow shape. Text about Count Basie performance top right and “Count Basie” bottom right. Not just a band in name, their music had personality. It had individuality and expression. It was good, swingin' jazz. The Basie touch, which imparts a special flavor to all of the Count's arrangements, was very much in evidence. The reason for his popularity in the nation was obvious. Circle K, a service fraternity on campus, sponsored the jazz concert.
