The Biosphere at dusk in Montréal. Its steel mesh is illuminated in hues of purple and blue. In front of it, there are green trees and a bridge. On the bridge, there is a cyclist. There are a couple dark clouds in the sky, as a result of the sun having set.

Automated translation: Alexander Calder’s Three Discs sculpture is composed of arched feet made of unpolished stainless steel. The superimposed bows rest on six slender posts that end in two spikes and three discs. With its abstract shape, the structure – asymmetrical, but balanced – creates play of shadow and light that evoke dance movements. The sculpture symbolises progress and power.
