I usually avoid riding in such rainy conditions... but I couldn't escape getting drenched on the last leg of the Suhua Highway back when I did my original huandao tour. Ended up riding all the way to Jiaoxi to soak in the hot springs and warm up after that long ride 🫠

I went to Jiaoxi, Yilan and Taitung last week, which are all good. Taitung you need car/scooter.
Previously went to Taipingshan near Yilan. It has hot springs, hiking and a bit of history. There’s a coach trip from Yilan but it helps if you speak Chinese.
Tainan is good for temples and history.

yes!! i went for a week. my bfs aunt lives in the older part of taipei. she toured us around the city, took us to yehliu to see the queens head, prepared us on a tour of jiufen & shifen, and then scheduled us for the weekend in jiaoxi for hiking + exploring. it was amazing. i want to go back too ;_;
