Jigen takes in a calico cat who reminds him of Goemon—he recalls that calico cats are always female, but this one really reminds him of Goemon. Goemon takes in a toy schnauzer puppy that reminds him of Jigen—he doesn’t know much about dogs but only males get beards, right?

ME TOO, augh in my pirate AU I had a whole thing where Mash basically cursed Jigen in exchange for immortality. Both now immortal but Jigen is a sea monster thing now that's in chronic pain and feels empty vs Mash who was always kinda lacking empathy anyway and uses his immortality to get power.
