If you are want for company, that is.” He had to admit, the company would be a better companion than alcohol, though these days he found himself tending toward the latter. Dorien’s company had been hard too. Conversations stilted and awkward, it seemed that there was a distance that did not exist before, one that had never existed before. Dorien did his best to act as though nothing was amiss, but it was plain as day. Still he smiled at that, and maybe Thancred was hoping once more, but he thought he sensed that warmth, or maybe it was just a ghost of it. “Of course. You are welcome to join me.”
