Odd. Last year was a great year for fireflies in my neighborhood. This year less so, but still better than it used to be.
Junebugs and crickets seem reduced lately, though. Given how the neighborhood cats have been targeting my yard lizards, I would expect more of most bugs.

The girlies down the street asked if they could harvest figs from our tree, and then a couple days later they dropped off a jar of fig jam.
Next year I'm just gonna tell them when the tree starts dumping figs, because us, the birds and the junebugs have all been trying to keep up with this tree--

Two more junebugs ran up on me today; one approached me after I left Food4Less and the other one flew into my yarn bag after I got off the bus.
I'm gettin' paid ☺️☺️☺️

My auntie always said that if you're approached by a junebug, that you'll be getting some money.
I got run up on by three junebugs at our family cookout yesterday; one landed on my head.

The beetles we called junebugs were brown where I grew up (Oklahoma/Texas) but otherwise they were just as bumbly and annoying.
