So wait Michael, I knew Gould had written about neoteny, but I didn’t know that he had written specifically about the progressive juvenilization in cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse!

Interestingly, Gould defines of neoteny as “progressive juvenilization as an evolutionary phenomenon”…

Vullaby are an example of juvenilization, where a new species branches off by retaining traits they would otherwise have shed as they matured. While they have lost their flight feathers, they have traded them for a dense coat of fluff which allow them to thrive in colder climates.

Come to Ireland. We’re a lot more relaxed than you appear to be.

A) Daniel is boys name - if you aren’t, no worries.

B) Lad is a term used in Ireland used for all sexes.

Juvenilization - you’ve apparently invented a word - infantilise on the other is a word.

People are dying.
Grow up.

Word of the day: "neotenous"

Neoteny, also called juvenilization, is the delaying or slowing of the physiological development of an organism, typically an animal. Neoteny is found in modern humans. Humans are the neotenous ape.

The most famous example of neoteny:

More juvenilization of the nation... 🤡🙄

All functions of evolutionary genetic juvenilization. Suck on that dirty spellchecker. My computer isn't responding to spellchecker for some reason, it's rather annoying.

'Smallness of the story' is such a good way to put it. The idea that a great clash between rival groups over land could be reduced to the unhinged vengeance fantasy of a child who never grew up 🙁

And Hera's juvenilization infuriated me. The less said the better 😠

I just watched the White House's video promoting the war on X. Wow... just wow.

Our government is being run by a bunch of people who peaked in their teens... that's the dumbest thing I've ever seen...that was literally the juvenilization of war.

The Juvenilization of American Christianity by Thomas Bergler. It is written by a minister and I haven't gotten into the modern politics yet so I have no idea how scathing he is of today's hot topics. BUT it was written in 2012 so it probably won't use the word woke.

I need to get my paws on that stuff a bit more. Particularly curious about sports history because it's just so. Weird. But I have a book I've been chipping away at that talk about the "juvenilization" of Christian faith. It does a good job of diagnosing White American suburbanites social aloofness

In the 20th century, we saw the reverse effect, where entertainment for adults turned into kids' fare. The Flintstones, Jonny Quest, and the Hokey-Pokey were all originally for adults. So the juvenilization that we see today is the reverse of the trend I saw earlier in my lifetime. 1/2

8/? If women already face the dangers of the feminization and juvenilization of poverty even in their precarious labor, the downward social mobility of men diminishes the amount of men seen as eligible for dating and even marriage in hopes of some social stability and companionship. Compounding this

The bronze scent hounds from the House of the Citharist — perhaps the result of ancient “juvenilization” in breeding. Youthful, agile, immortal. #scenthound

The irony of asking that question while... demanding that I speak English, engaging in disparagement through juvenilization, and misgendering all in one sentence.

I call it the “Animal House Syndrome”.
It all started there; the juvenilization of the American male.
When Bluto became a way to be popular with the bros, that started a trend.

Alternatively, this social media troll persona, in it for the LMAOs, who can't see the necessary policy discourse that she would have had to undertake in the job she so desperately wanted (and feels robbed of), should never, ever be taken seriously. The juvenilization of politics needs ending.

I watching the playoff game on nickelodeon. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I am pretty sure I don't like the juvenilization of paid violence.

Neoteny, also called juvenilization, is the delaying or slowing of the physiological, or somatic, development of an organism, typically an animal. Neoteny is found in modern humans compared to other primates.
what you're describing is the development of maturity and , i think its called, 'neotany' which is what humans do to GROW the brain bc of hypertrophy, instead of having more in-built knowledge (like, we cant WALK from birth, we must learn to)
