A circa 1740 Saint-Cloud porcelain 'trembleuse' tea cup and saucer with three lobed and scalloped rims and a matching saucer with a raised gallery, all decorated with a design of bamboo, pine and prunus with banded hedges in the Japanese Kakiemon style, the cup with a stylized “twig” handle. Fun.
MARKS No painted factory marks on either the cup or saucer. A retail label with the text "Vandermeersch" is placed underneath the saucer. MEASUREMENTS Cup: 4 1/4” (10.8 cm) diameter with handle, 2 1/4” (5.7 cm) high. Saucer: 5 3/8” (13.7 cm) diameter. Unlike other Saint-Cloud tea cups with similar Kakeimon decoration, this form has a wider mouth, only three lobes on both the saucer and cup, and is decorated with flowers at the bottom of the well of the cup.

A circa 1740 Meissen lobed porcelain bowl decorated with two banded hedges on two sides and scattered groups of painted and gilt flowers, all in the Kakeimon style, and with a brown line along the scalloped rim. A typical Japanese motif of the time, seen on Meissen and Chantilly wares.
MEASUREMENTS 6 3/8” (16.3 cm) diameter, 3” (7.6 cm) high. PROVENANCE Christie’s, London, Sale 17345, Meissen Porcelain from a Private German Collection, 9 July 2019, lot 63. Another 1740 Meissen example of the same form with nearly identical decoration, and also with a Pressnummer 21 mark is in the Rijksmuseum (item number BK-1968-168); Vincennes later copied this form in soft-paste circa 1750, an example is also in the Rijksmuseum (item number BK-1968-169). MARKS Crossed swords in underglaze blue on the underside with the Pressnummer 21.

Omg, both of your pieces are stunning as always but that kaimon and kakeimon piece is so inspired, I'm so happy whenever I get to see often forgotten appmon just hanging out in silly domestic situations LOL
