The heavy snowfall is blown by the wind & createing streak patterns over the Kamikochi Hts.Mt.Yake erupted in 1915. Its volcanic debris stopped Katsura River from forming the pond; the dead trees still stick out from the water's surface.

Kamikōchi is a mountainous highland valley in the Northern Japanese Alps of #Nagano Prefecture. Two years ago, my wife and I visited there on a fine autumn day, and we hiked from Kappa Bridge to Myōjin Pond.
