The sword itself is supposed to be a bit more of a relic; it's design is inspired by the classic Kampilan, but also mixes elements from other Filipino blades. The rings in particular is inspired by the famous ringed Dao swords from China!

An old one is Arizona who picked up a cursed as hell magic sword that sensed her dysphoria and was like "this is bullshit" and 'force' femmed her so she could fight better.

I mean, the keris alone is a wonderful sword. It's not by accident that it features in two of my stories!
Uchigatanas are a classic, beautiful weapon. The Chinese dao is pretty cool, too, and so is the kampilan with its weird branching tip. Lots of really cool weapons around there!
