The question Luka poses to Kanade in kana6 is, paraphrased, 'If Mafuyu is happy without you writing songs for her, what are you going to do?' The worst possible ending that occured to many fans was that Kanade would give in to the desire to "disappear" in that case.

which is more heavily implied than directly canon, but kana6 tells us “until recently” kanade looked guilty visiting her mother’s grave. her father’s collapse was three years ago as of kana6, which is still ‘recent’ and i feel she may have looked guilty for longer if it’s notable to her grandma.
