Corpus Christi has a new historical marker honoring the area's Indigenous people.

It replaces a 1976 marker describing the "Karankawa Indians" as having "a reputation for savagery" and cannibalism. It also stated falsely that the Karankawa no longer exist. 🗃️

The Gulf of Karankawa (Mexico) just set a new record for the hottest sea-surface temperature for the June 23rd since measurements began in 1982.

Will new record highs continue? Will a new all-time high be set later this year? The Climate 8-ball is drunk again.

Speaking of f&%kery ... as of yesterday, the Gulf of Karankawa is just 0.02°C below the record high for the day, set just last year.

The lack of tropical development is allowing warm surface-waters to continue heating.

Will we see a new daily record tomorrow? Stay tuned!

Galveston Island, a fairly large island off the coast of Houston, is home to a unique population of coyotes. These coyotes mixed generations ago with the now endangered red wolf, and have up to 30% of their DNA from them. Locals have given the nickname "Ghost Wolves" to them
