#OTD #KateMeyrick London's nightclub queen passed away from pneumonia at the age of 57. For 13 years her nightclub empire made headlines in London and Paris. She went to prison several times for flouting licensing laws and came to symbolise the rebellious and decadent spirit of the jazz age.

Kate Meyrick was London's best known nightclub owner of #1920s London.

She had a club called Brett's in Charing Cross Road where an all female jazz band played.

Sadly, members of the band have not been able to be personally identified.
