A good way to build your vocab is to find a radio show or station you like. iHeartRadio has a bunch that you can stream online—I currently like KCSM (Bay Area). WRTI (Philadelphia) is not on iHeart but has an all-jazz channel online.

I was talking to a nephew of mine that recently move out to the SF area - and I recommended KCSM to him to check out.

"Computer Chronicles" debuted on KCSM in 1981 as a local program hosted by Jim Warren and broadcast live on Thursday nights. There's only one known full recording of this season, an October 1981 program on TI Logo for the TI-99/4A.

Today would have been Stewart Cheifet's 88th birthday. Born in Philadelphia on September 24, 1938, Cheifet's career began at ABC News in 1964. In 1978, he took over as general manager of KCSM in San Mateo, California, where he created "Computer Chronicles."

When Stewart Cheifet became GM of KCSM in 1978, the station still broadcast in black and white. College of San Mateo president Lois Callahan agreed to swap channel numbers (14 for 60) with KDTV, which transferred its transmitter and color equipment to KCSM in exchange for the lower dial number.
An article from the January 29, 1979, Peninsula Times Tribune in Palo Alto, California: A 'quantum leap' for CSM station An obscure television station affiliated with the College of San Mateo is planning a "quantum leap" next month that will enable it to serve the entire Bay Area, with a special focus on the Peninsula. Until now, according to Stewart Cheifet, general manager of UHF station 14 (KCSM), the channel has served only the community adjacent to the College, which funds the tiny broadcasting operation. On Feb. 4, though, the station will leap into the ring with the Bay Area's video heavyweights. Its meager 250,000 watt power output will be cranked up to 1.5 million watts, and a potential audience of 250,000 will expand to 3.5 million television viewers. In addition, the old black-and-white format will blossom into full color. The station will abandon channel 14 in favor of channel 60, and it will utilize a new tower on Mt. San Bruno. As an affiliate of the Public Broadcasting System, the station will offer programs from that network as well as local presentations. The bulk of the station's programming will be devoted to college courses. "The fact is, in terms of college credit, this is the cheapest way to do it." "It's going to be a quantum leap for us. It's like starting a whole new station."

The original "Computer Chronicles" studio was located in the basement of a community college library. KCSM, the PBS station that produced the show, was owned and operated by the College of San Mateo. The College opened its current library in November 1963, which included the KCSM television studio.
