Was learning about curtain folds & their shadows & highlights. Also learning about lattice pie work & shadows & highlights there. I could do a lot more to adjust the values & make my pie more realistic, but for a first effort, I’m happy with it. (I’m not about perfection, so good enough is fine)

An autumn tree with various shades of leaves is loosely painted in the background with a blue and pale yellow sky providing the light source for this scene. This painting was based on a tutorial by @keepitcolourful which is the artist Jesse Robertson providing the instruction and guidance. This was my second painting of the week (rare for me!) and so I am doing the final details of it somewhat hastily, and it was nice to be able to accomplish more than one painting. I stretched myself with regards to time because having another technique to think about and practice is valuable to me in my hobby activities. Pretty sure I will be looking at our fruit bowl and curtain folds a bit more this upcoming month as the lighting changes due to the shorter daylight hours of autumn. And um, hehe, how you like them apples? 😝
