Not even that that recent anymore. It’s been like six months? She and her mom were really close, too. Her videos to the kidnapper were heartbreaking.

In hindsight, two possible solutions: (1) reverse the roles so that the unicorn was the kidnapper rather than the kidnappee (2) lean in and turn this into a variation of gone girl, but with a more satisfying ending.
