I want to stress that again, in the 20th century people thought not just the Shang dynasty but all of their kings were made up by later writers, but then we did in fact find oracle bones with /literally the names of every single king from the traditional kinglist down from the second one/

Ur-Nammu's invasion also marks the end of the city of Awan in general. It had competed with Mesopotamian neighbors for centuries, Puzur-Inshushinak was the last King of Awan on the Elamite Kinglist. The city only appears a few more times in any written records.

Based on his name, titles, and activity, he was probably from Susa, so how he came to Awan is unclear. He does appear on this Elamite Kinglist for Awan, but his father does not. Maybe it was a prestigious conquest like becoming King of Sumer and Akkad, or maybe we miss something.
