I've been swatching this smocking knitting stitch trialling it for a cardi. I love the dense fabric it makes but at 32-34 stitches per 4"/10 cm, it would just take way too long, even on bigger needles. Shame! 🧶 #swatches #knitting #barbarawalker #knittingstitches

If you haven't already, you BETTER try the double knit stitch, it's probably my new favorite stitch!!

Cast on any even number, alternate one knit, and one slip stitch (purlwise with yarn in front)
