I just found out that Kenichi Nishi, the director of the first Chibi-Robo, just released a $5 mobile game made entirely with vibecoding and AI generated art. fml, so much for fuckin environmentalism

👓: I occasionally browse Kickstarter both for inspiration for when we eventually do it ourselves, and for interesting stuff. We backed KoRoBo, My Time at Sandrock, and Mega Man: Bot in the Family this way. Oh, and Fraymakers. Still gotta play that.

I really want KoRobo to succeed, but the fact they've chosen to work with known fraudsters Strictly Limited makes me want to steer clear of backing it. If the game comes out I'll likely buy it, but I don't want Strictly Limited getting a cent.

I am super hyped for Stray Children the Moon RPG successor and koROBO the Chibi-Robo successor but I mainly hope these are successful enough so that those folks go on to put out like a small puzzle game or two afterwards

My dream is they remake the first game and clean sweep as modern games as a duology so we can get a third game in the same style one day. I know the original creators are doing Korobo, but at least the design I see doesn’t inspire the same “there’s my little guy!” as theChibi-Robo’s design does.

Chibi-Robo! (2005) is finally reissued on GameCube Nintendo Classics! Despite Nintendo and Bandai Namco's co-ownership, the original legal notice remained as is. Poor Skip didn't catch a break; the less said about its sequels the better. Good luck to the original developers working on koROBO!
