I even have some period-appropriate-film to try (which I found unrefrigerated in a closet at my parents' old house) that I don't think was ever shot (we always tucked-in the tail afterward)--but if it was, my shitty pix will be over whatever may have already been on here...

Hey, FotoFriends! I finally developed that suspiciously-ancient-roll of KodakGold100 that I shot for last December's #ShittyCameraChallenge & I'll be sharing some favorite images from the roll--if y'all need some inspiration for this year's holiday round...check the thread below for updates!

I don't believe I've had a Sunday delivery by any Postal Service since I was a student in Austria 20+yrs ago, but today, my @shittychallenge.bsky.social camera arrived, with glad tidings from Gigi...looks like I might be shooting 35mm for the 1st time in 2 yrs...
#AllHailtheElderGods
Brown paper mini-eggcrate-wrapping unfolded to reveal a ca. 1994 Pentax IQZoom928 35mm film camera. The enclosed note (with full-color-Cathomet-motif designed in prior years (still for sale as a t-shirt-design in the Shitty Camera Sweatshop, I do believe)) reads: "Dear Shitter, "A massive thank you from the Shitty Camera Challenge for your donation to the Trevor Project! Who knew that Shitty Cameras could have such a clear positive impact? "Regardless of whether the camera works or not your support is making a real difference in the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth, providing them with the life-saving resources they need. Whether our lenses are focused or a little blurry, we can get through this together. "Thank You "All Hail the Elder Gods "Gigi" Camera & note are laid-out at the foot of a bed, atop an ancient Granny-square-afghan Closer view of Pentax with the bottom-third of the enclosed note Clear shot of the front of the Pentax

Currently scanning a roll of KodakGold100 that went thru the family-camera 35 years ago come this December. We have my youngest sister's 1st birthday, & a school choral concert I both distinctly & only faintly recall...#WaybackWednesday
Fri.09.Nov.1990--a lady in a red sweatshirt (my mother) holds an infant in a pink & white outfit (my youngest sister), blowing at the single candle on the 1/2-sheet-cake being held in front of both of them by a lady in dark lilac (my aunt; Dad's oldest sister). Behind the people photographed there's a small secretary desk draped with a red-green-&-white-doily crocheted by Mom's grandmother (which, if I recall, had been placed at Christmas 1989 & never put back in the decorations); a black-&-gold-painted wooden high chair (I can still remember how it hurt when you'd catch a finger in the spring-catches that kept the tray in-place); and (in a back room with black & gold bamboo wallpaper from the 1950s, and bamboo windowshades) a Zenith console television plays a Desmond Llewellyn advert for Highland Superstores. Taken with the Minolta XG-7 & single-direction-xenon-flash that always washed-out images (& seared your retina for 15 minutes thereafter); original photofinishing by K-Mart's in-house-photo-lab. Brown-haired-boy wearing a brown bowtie & blue sweater-vest addresses a small auditorium filled with chirren, as a lady dressed in green stands next to a stereo phonograph (the industrial-type y'all used to see as students) arranged on an AV cart, waiting for bowtie-boy to quit talking. I'm the bowtie-boy, and I cannot tell you what words I uttered. Taken with a Minolta XG-7 (thankfully no flash in this one); original photofinishing by K-Mart's in-house-photo-lab.

It's been nearly a year, but I finally developed this suspect-roll (it was NOT double-exposed! but it WAS heat-damaged--which simply adds to the overall shittiness) from 2024's #ShittyCameraChallenge ... using it in the Pentax was exactly what was needed at that moment in time. Here's a selection:
Blonde chi-hua-hua wearing a red-white-&-blue-winter-sweater stands on the middle of a bed draped in a navy-blue-&-goldenrod-chenille-blanket (on top of which has been layered a granny-square-Roseanne-style-afghan at the foot of the bed), just in front of a soap dish containing pocket change & a light-brown-wooden-cigar-box (as well as something wrapped in white paper--I can't recall what it was). In the lower-left-corner, a date of "12 22 '94" is displayed in red digital numerals (as the calendar on the Pentax only went up to 2019), and the overall image has the optical quality of color film left in high temperatures for a long period of time (though just enough color to ascertain what the shades might be in real life); taken Sun.22.XII.2024 on KodakGold100 film (expired at least 07/1993); developed & scanned by meeeee. The photographer (bearded bloated guy, wearing Santa hat) peers down into camera lens, seemingly over top of younger subject (photographer's nephew, wearing long brown hair parted down the center) with a fireplace mantel (sporting stockings hung by the chi-minnie with care). Sprocket holes from light & developing are all up & down the right margin of this image (and it sports a reddish cast of color film begun to decompose). Taken Tue.24.XII.2024 on KodakGold100 film (expired at least 07/1993); developed & scanned by meeeee. Overly-surprised, semi-geriatric white boxer looks at camera, with a folding table set up imemdiately to her left. Behind can be seen several drinking wessels on an endtable (in front of which has been stacked a blue crocheted afghan. The flash was deployed for this shot (as evidenced by the yellow-green-lights in pupper's eyes, and reddish cast of color film begun to decompose makes white boxer look pink). Taken Wed.25.XII.2024 (though the date in the lower right corner instead shows "12 25 '94," due to the Pentax's internal calendar only going up to the year 2019) on KodakGold100 film (expired at least 07/1993); developed & scanned by meeeee.
