The little old building, now Hotel NewYork, used to be headquarters for Holland America Lijn where emigrants started their journeys on large cruise ships to the promised land. The cruise ship terminal is still there and the cruise ship ‘Nieuw Statendam’ can be seen behind the large buildings behind the hotel.
