There are more than 50 bird species in AoNZ with a higher threat status than kororā. They get priority.
Limited resources means triaging is critical.
I get that kororā are cute, but that shouldn't drive conservation decisions.

These tracks in the sand (footprints and wing swipes) were made by two kororā, or Little Blue Penguins.
They nest overnight in the rocks and then head out to sea before sunrise to spend the day fishing.
