SINT MAARTEN -- The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) is investigating an armed robbery that took place at a restaurant located on Front Street in Philipsburg on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at approximately 21:10 p.m. According to preliminary information, a male suspect entered the establishment while brandishing a handgun and demanding cash. Under threat of the firearm, the cashier was forced to hand over an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.

SINT MAARTEN (KPSM) -- On Wednesday September 30, 2026 at approximately 4:20 p.m., the KPSM Police Dispatch Center received a report of an explosion near a boat yard on Wellsburg Street in Cole Bay. Preliminary investigation indicated that work was being carried out on a boat near the fuel tank area when an explosion occurred. Two workers sustained minor injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

SINT MAARTEN (KPSM) -- As part of ongoing efforts to maintain public safety and security on Sint Maarten, the Korps Politie Sint Maarten (KPSM) Flex Team, conducted security and traffic controls throughout various areas of the country during the afternoon hours of September 28 going into the early morning hours of September 29, 2026. During the nighttime controls, officers attempted to stop a dark-colored vehicle traveling along the A.Th.

SINT MAARTEN (KPSM) -- The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM), through the KPSM Operations Team and in cooperation with various operational partners, conducted a series of targeted enforcement actions during the period of Sunday, September 20 through Sunday, September 27, 2026. The operations focused on general road safety, the suppression of robberies, illegal firearms and drug-related offenses, with particular attention to areas where an increase in robberies had been identified. 

SINT MAARTEN (KPSM) -- The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) arrested a suspect on Friday, September 25, 2026, in connection with an attempted armed robbery in the Rhine Road area. Police received a report that two persons were approached while walking by two armed men. The suspects allegedly searched the victims for money. After the victims raised the alarm and began making noise, the suspects fled the area in a vehicle.

SINT MAARTEN (KPSM) -- On Monday, September 21, 2026, the Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) received an official complaint from a victim who reported being threatened with a firearm following a verbal confrontation with a suspect. Following the complaint, personnel of the Detective Department proceeded to a residence in the St. Peters area, where the suspect, identified by the initials D.D.C., was located and arrested.

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – The Ministry of Justice is pleased to recognize the selection of Police Officer Richardson of the Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) to participate in the IACP/UAE Ministry of Interior Police Academy Exchange Program in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Officer Richardson departed Sint Maarten on September 10, 2026, to begin a six-month international training program at the Abu Dhabi Police College.

SINT MAARTEN (KPSM) -- The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) has arrested a 17-year-old male suspect in connection with the robbery of a visitor on Cannegieter Street in Philipsburg on Monday afternoon, September 21, 2026. At approximately 3:00 p.m., the Central Dispatch received a report of a robbery in the area of Cannegieter Street. Patrol officers, members of the Bike Team, and detectives were immediately dispatched to the location.
