Act 2: The Chinese poetry technique, ancestor to KSTK, appears on record.
Act 3: Westerners discover narrative styles beyond Aristotle, Campbell, etc.
Act 4: A rich meditation on synthesizing forms ensues!

I'd love to! So some of the best examples of this can be found in film (Kiki's Delivery Service is a good one) or in books (Before the Coffee Gets Cold is a personal fave).

The structure is broken down into Introduction, Development, Twist, and Resolution.

Kishōtenketsu in extremely broad, western-POV brushstrokes:

Ki = introduction/setup
Shō = development
Ten = twist
Ketsu = conclusion

A funny-pages comic typically uses panel 3 ("twist" in KSTK) to set up the punchline in panel 4, so "conclusion" = "now we laugh because it's funny."
