A beautiful Amazon broad-headed wood lizard (Enyalioides laticeps) that we encountered on multiple occasions while night hiking at Emerald Arch. This fast-moving diurnal lizard was so relaxed in our presence that I almost booped its nose while using the Kuangren K150 wide angle macro lens.

For those interested - This photo was taken using KuangRen K42 wide angle macro lens that I've been experimenting with recently.

So I'm trying out a new flash (KuangRen KX800) and it lacks TTL controls. That's sort of a pain but because it doesn't send out a pre-flash I can finally get pics of long-legged flies (Dolichopodidae), which have a very rapid (<5 ms) startle reflex. This is Neurigona deformis, ovipositing into moss.

kuangren makes macro lenses for mostly insect photography. They also made this light rig. I don't know if it is any good, but the vibes are immaculate.

I ... feel like I understand the sort of people who would make this.

Bug people, my KX800 twin flash is old and dying. What are some of your favorite options available nowadays?

I've mostly had my eyes on K909 or K1000 but Kuangren products aren't easily available here. Importing one would nearly triple the price so I'm weighing my options.
