Not Tal obvs but love the Kushiel books, If you've got high smut tolerance would recommend Auryn Hadley's path of temptation series. I like most of her stuff tbh but that one espesh has the same kinda vibe

I've heard valid criticism of it, but Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel trilogy was the first time I read a complex story built around a complex character who was unapologetically all about sex. The (very explicit!) sex wasn't dramatic flourish or shoehorned-in spectacle; it was a character being herself.
I hear about bad sex in books all the time, so I'd like to ask what everyone's favorite piece of erotic writing is instead! Explaining why is welcome.
'Writing' can include comics, serials, poems, on top of books and short stories, as long as what you enjoy about the eroticism centers the text.

"Guess what I'm called upon to edit next" that's the writer's version of a jump scare. Editing your own Kushiel-inspired book while still in book hangover is a special kind of challenge. How's Ilavani holding up against the inspiration?

KUSHIEL X THE EXPANSE
I (32M) fell for my BFF (28F) at first sight, but won't act on it. I'm her boss. She was enslaved as a kid. Now, bad people want her dead. I'm told she'll be safe if she joins a program for sex slavery in all but name.
...WIBTA if I bought her?

...yeah, it's giving abusive boss/dictator and the gallows humor people develop under those conditions.
I have no idea what the people who think this is "so horny" have been reading for the rest of their lives, OMG. It's like how the Kushiel series gets 4 peppers on romance.io.

I missed this the first time I read it! One of the books he does the j'accuse thing for corrupting fiction's bookshelves since 2008 stars "Phedre no DeLaunay."
Except the Kushiel series was a decade earlier than the coining of "Romantasy."

A new DnD dude I'm cookin up, Kushiel, the Artificial Sovereign! He's an oath breaker paladin. Wanted to play around with the idea of some "bio android" warforged with divine elements.
Not sure if I'll ever get to play him, but I think the idea is fun :)

A lot of the big 90s series were resolving by the time I'd finished college, so I can't cite ASOIAF or WoT or Kushiel. But they were huge for me. And I kept reading every Garth Nix book that came out.

I don't think I ever had the accidental sexy book situation, but I was reading Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel books as a teen with mom's awareness.
Really sucks that everyone's got at least one shitty author in their personal canon, but that's where Reading Moar Books helps a lot.
