apparently he left the New Yorker in 2015 to become the Executive Editor of Genius (as in the lyrics annotation website?) then after a few months became the critic-at-large for the LATimes for a year? and now…idk, I guess he must be freelance? or a newsletter-er?

I mean, he quit the New Yorker, worked for a few months as the head of that lyrics annotation website, joined the LATimes, and then left that position after he allegedly expenses $5000 at a strip club and I can’t think of anything notable he’s written in the last decade?

“Trump is trying to tell you, you live in an authoritarian society now, and that he is the state,” Jason Stanley, ex-Yale professor now at the University of Toronto partly because of a far-right shift in the U.S., said of Trump's TV ads.

“This is pure, pure state propaganda,” he told the LATimes.
Commentary: The 'authoritarian scent' in Trump's ego-laden ads

Ugh. But (despite dangers) I understand why some voters are using chatbots for info on obscure down-ballot races. Many large (once-trusted) city newspapers (like my hometown paper LATimes) have stopped making endorsements. And our ballots are 9 pages long! It’s hard to vote responsibly!
