This video features a reconstruction, based on existing technical documentation, of how the AMY chip would have sounded; it was meant to be integrated into the Atari 65XEM computer www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrQQ... #Atari8bit #atari #Atari65XEM
AMY: the Atari Sound Chip Made of Sine Waves, Reconstructed from Its 1983-84 Documents
In 1983 Atari's research lab in Sunnyvale designed AMY, the "Additive Music sYnthesizer": a sound chip that built every sound from pure sine waves. 64 sine oscillators, shared among up to 8 voices,…

A couple decades ago, the big retailer I worked for looked into having digital displays greet people based on the chip in their loyalty card.

We got it to work in our test lab but seeing it live, we decided it was too creepy to implement.

That sort of customer respect is long gone.
Starbucks CEO says the company is planning to focus more on AI and tech, including a adding system that would recognize customers as they arrive in stores to "present personalized digital menus."

Lab-on-a-chip predicts which cancer treatments may work for pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia
More than 120,000 people in the U.S. are living with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and 6,000 new cases are diagnosed each year.

A little lab on our wrist? The chip that will measure everything
Smart watches already measure our pulse, steps and sleep. The next big step would be to be able to monitor blood sugar as well, without needles. Cambridge University researchers seem to be moving in this direction, having created a tiny optical sensor to monitor various health indicators. The device is a few centimeters in size. The study, published in Nature Photonics…

Lab-on-a-chip technology helps predict childhood leukemia treatment responses
More than 120,000 people in the U.S. are living with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and 6,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. Of those, more than 3,500 will be in children. Responsible for 75% of all pediatric leukemia diagnoses, ALL is a rapid-onset blood cancer, preventing the body from producing mature, infection-fighting white blood cells, sometimes within a matter of months. ALL requires immediate treatment, often a combination of chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and bone marrow transplants-but clinicians today have no way of knowing how specific drug combinations and dosages will impact the patient, or whether the treatment will be successful. Currently, treatment strategies incorporate some degree of personalization based on leukemia subtype and risk classification. Despite this, most patients ultimately receive similar treatment regimens. While advances in genomic sequencing have raised the possibility of truly personalized therapy, new complementary functional assays are still necessary to test live cancer cells directly against treatments to see which interventions actually work. Two patients can have the same genetic mutation but have very different responses to targeted therapy. To address this, a team of scientists and clinicians at Emory University, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Georgia Tech developed a groundbreaking new technology to...

Hahaha, yeah, "search & rescue"..

That's a good joke. All of this is being developed solely so that the techno-fascist elite can oppress and enslave the rest of humanity.
