Fanart for the book series A Court of Thorns and Roses. A well-dressed male fae figure is trapped beneath the clear surface of a lake. His long red hair is spread out in the water behind him. He's looking intently out of the picture. His fingertips are pressed to the surface from below, smoldering, steam rising from the points of contact. Fanart for the book series A Court of Thorns and Roses. The picture is split in half in a cracked line, right through the middle of the center one of three figures. A young male fae in standing straight-backed the center, with long red hair, amber eyes, high cheekbones and freckles, looking directly at the viewer. On the left side, he's dressed in elegant clothing and wears jewelry along with a golden crown of laurels. Behind his shoulder, a red-haired woman in a gown and adorned with jewels is looking at him with a small, reserved smile. Autumn forest scenery is visible through a window. On the right side, the center figure is wearing a torn, bloody shirt, his face is bruised, his brow and lip split, and on his shoulder, wounds from a lashing are visible. Behind him a man stands in a proud, rigid posture. He's wearing a crown of golden oak leaves, simple gold earrings and a dark red cape held by a heavy golden clasp. His clothes are dark and stern but elegant. He's looking out of the picture with a stern frown. In the background, chains are hanging on a stone wall.
