Body believed to be that of accused triple murderer Julian Ingram discovered in NSW nature reserve

NSW Police have located a body believed to be that of Julian Ingram, the 37-year-old man accused of a triple murder in the western New South Wales town of Lake Cargelligo on 22 January. The body was found in a very decomposed state next to a white Ford Ranger ute at Roundhill Nature Reserve, approximately 100 kilometres northeast of the town. Police confirmed the vehicle's registration matched the getaway ute seen leaving the scene on the day of the shootings, and Ingram's licence was located inside the vehicle. Clothing on the body also supported the belief it was Ingram. The accused had been on the run since the incident, with no confirmed sightings after driving out of town. A $250,000 reward had been offered in March for information leading to his capture. Ingram is alleged to have killed his pregnant former partner Sophie Quinn, 25, and her aunt Nerida Quinn, 50, along with shooting John Harris, 32, who was killed, while another man Kaleb Macqueen, 19, survived serious injuries. The shootings occurred shortly after Ingram had reported for bail at a local station. Western Region commander Superintendent Andrew Holland described the discovery as bringing closure to the Quinn family and the community of Lake Cargelligo, allowing residents to feel safer. A formal identification and cause of death will be determined by the coroner. The find ends a lengthy manhunt that involved extensive searches of bushland and remote areas. This tragic case has deeply affected the small regional community.
