Some great points here. We need to expand the province’s protected areas as well as improve access to public waterfronts. So much of Ontario’s lakeshores are privatized and closed to the growing population.

It was raining steadily when I found this female Belted Kingfisher. Frustrating to many birders and nature photographers, this ubiquitous but furtive bird is found along rivers and lakeshores. Most often found by their loud and distinctive rattle. #photography #birds #naturephotography #wildlife
